The
Atmosphere:
Before the Starbucks and the Gaps of the world started taking over
Lincoln Road, the street was ruled by local shops like the Frieze.
These days, The Frieze has moved around the corner to cheaper rent
on Michigan Avenue and the faithful locals have followed. This is a
true local's place; original artwork adorns the walls, a bulletin
board announces yoga classes, neighbors walking their dogs stop in
for a bite.
The Food:
Everything is made on the premises, and the friendly staff
practically forces you to try each flavor. Creamy ice-cream flavors
such as macadamia caramel or double toffee are so fresh you can
almost hear the cows mooing. Sorbets are deliciously unique, made
from exotic tropical fruits like tamarind, papaya and guavanbana. A
scoop is just the thing to cool you down on a sweltering, sultry
Miami evening.
